Impromptu Photo Shoot

Tori was wearing her Disneyland dress, (which is almost too small!) and I decided to get a few pictures of her doing her favorite new thing: pretend walking!  I call it pretend because I am completely holding her under the arms- she still collapses her legs often.  But she loves to take giant steps all over the house.  And she also loves to pet Bella.
This was toward the end of our photos when she had clearly had enough- but she still looks so cute!
Look how proud Tori is, standing so tall in her pink dress!  She's 29 inches now.
And Daddy is always so good to take some mom and baby pictures.  That little smile- so precious!
In most of our pictures she was sticking out her tongue, but this is the best one of the bunch.  She is in the process of cutting 4 more teeth- and they are taking their time.  So she is drooling like crazy and lots of tongue sticking out.  Tori will have an 8 teeth smile by the time her 1st birthday rolls around next month!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!  Today was Tori's first Easter, and although she is still too young to really enjoy the egg hunting or coloring, or even understand what Easter is really all about, we still had a fun family day.  She awoke at her usual early hour (6:30am) and we played with her Easter basket, which had some gifts from Grammy Z and some colored eggs filled with Cheerios!
Tori really liked the Cheerio filled eggs, since they made a neat noise.  She shook the yellow egg around a lot.  But she couldn't get the Cheerios out till Daddy helped her.
Even with the cute bunnies she had been given, the Easter books, and the chirping chicky, nothing captured her interest like the basket.  She examined the basket for a good while.  Tori is really quite detail oriented- much more than I would've thought a baby could be.
And here she is with her basket before taking everything out of it- she also liked the ribbons on the handle.
And after all that Easter basket fun, and a good oatmeal breakfast, we went to the Easter Service at Church.  Tori had on her little Easter bonnet and matching dress.  It would have been nice if it was a little warmer and then you could see the dress, but at least it wasn't raining!  Here is Tori and Mama after the service.  She sang along with the many alleluias!

Spoons and Crawling

We are starting to have Tori feed herself more often now, although this is one of the first times she's put the right end of the spoon in her mouth, so it may be finger foods for awhile.  She is working on her pincer grasp with Cheerios, bits of chicken and soft veggies, and she's even tried some french fries from Burgerville, which she thought were the best ever.  Although this picture gives me hope that one day, she will eat with a spoon!

It's amazing how quickly the food gets all over her when she gets ahold of that spoon.  She hates getting her face wiped, so some days I don't do as thorough a job as I should, and then we'll be out and I'll notice some squash or dried peas in her eyebrow or on her ear....
This is Tori with her crawl ball.  No, she isn't crawling- not even close.  Showing no interest in it either.  So I bought her this crawl ball that moves around, enticing Baby to move after it.  So far, it hasn't enticed her enough.  She is like a monkey in my arms now; she twists and moves and grabs, not to mention all the talking and singing she has been doing lately!  So I know she wants to move more, it's just coordinating it all into a crawl of some sort.  She'll get there.  And I just noticed that I REALLY need to childproof that plug-in right there before she does start to crawl!

Spring Break Coast Trip

This is Auntie Jo with Tori at the Coast!  Tori was mostly wanting to stay in Mom or Dad's arms for the few days that we were there....  We stayed in Pacific City at Kris's family beach house.  Boy was it cold!  But we did spend a little time out of the house......

Here is everyone at the Tillamook Cheese Factory.

Tori liked watching the conveyor belt with the boxes of cheese on it.

What's this?  A Pregnant Papa?  No- it's just Daddy Chise with Tori completely zipped into his coat so she wouldn't blow away as we walked on the beach.  I'm thinking we may spend more time on the beach in July.
